Game
Notes:
The Pembroke High JV team took on Norwell High's JV team on a rainy Friday afternoon. Pembroke found themselves down 3-0 early, but battle back to eventually tie the game 4-4. Umpires, weary about playing conditions: translation- umpires who couldn't wait to go home, stopped the game after six innings.
Shawn Gilliand started for the Titans and went the first four innings. Justin Pugliesi began pitching in the 5th inning for Gilliand, and experienced some control problems. Ryan Martin stopped the bleeding by leaving Norwell inherited base runners stranded.
Martin was also the story offensively. Martin reached base 3 times, including a towering homerun in the fourth inning. Martin also pitched 2 scoreless innings in pitching relief.
Peter Trudeau for the second consecutive game executed to perfection a sacrifice bunt. He also had two singles. Besides Trudeau's offensive success, be made the play of the game by snagging a Martin pitch on an attempted squeeze play and dove over the plate to cut down the Norwell runner stealing home. It would have been the go ahead run for Norwell.
Mike Sjolin, Rob Rozzi, Seth Chaplin, Dana Rosner, and Brian Gentile all had hits for the Titans who are now 1-0-1. The Titans next game will be Monday when they host Hanover.
