Game Notes: The Pembroke Titans JV lost another heartbreaker to Hingham, 2-1. Higham scored twice in the bottom of the 7th inning on a walk off single.
The first two men for Hingham reached base via a walk and single. With no out, a ground ball handcuffed second basement Brian Gentile which scored one run. The next batter singled with runners on first and sencond base scoring the winning run home.
Ryan Martin was the hardluck loser for the Titans as he pitched masterfully through the first 6 innings. He allowed one earned run, gave up 5 hits, and struck out 5 in the complete game loss.
The Titan bats were cold with exception to Sammy Nagle. Nagle was a perfect 3-3 at the plate, slapping 3 singles to right field.
The Titans left runner stranded with less than two out on three occasions, only to come up empty. Production in the bottom third of the order must improve as they were 0-8 with 6 strikeouts.
It was the second time in a week that Pembroke has lost on walk-off base hits in the last inning. The Titans will try their luck on Monday when they travel to Scituate. Rob Rozzi will be expected back for the Titans who now fall to 4-3-1 on the season.
