Notes:
Although the fictitious Jimmy Duggan said "There's no crying in baseball!", apparently there is "tying" in baseball. The Renegades faced a very solid Rebel team, and battled from behind to secure a 5-5 tie when the time limit expired. Lucas started the game with one inning of no hit/no earned run pitching. Steven added to his team leading inning count by going the next four innings with no walks, and Clint closed out the game getting 2 Ks in the last inning. With the winning run threatening at second, Clint fanned the batter for the 2nd out as Patrick deftly slipped behind the runner to take the pickoff throw from Lucas to end the the game. Not many hitting highlights as the Renegades bats were uncharacteristically silent vs the Rebel pitchers, including an amazing 10 strikeouts. Nick had a double and a triple and scored twice, while Michael, Brian, and Patrick added singles. |
