East Suns Freshman and Grafton each put runners in scoring position on Wednesday, but East Suns Freshman capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-4 win at West Bend East. Grafton got seven hits compared with just five for East Suns Freshman, but Grafton stranded 11 on base. East Suns Freshman staved off Grafton as Grafton was unable to match East Suns Freshman down the stretch. Grafton scored three runs in the fifth on two singles and a steal of home by Connor. Despite its efforts, Grafton couldn't get over the hump. Carlitos Salazar got on base three times in the game for East Suns Freshman. He singled in the fourth inning. Jake Baumann recorded the win for East Suns Freshman. He allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings. Baumann struck out three, walked four and gave up five hits. East Suns Freshman closer Dakota Skenandore put away the final eight outs to record the save. The bottom of the first saw East Suns Freshman take an early lead, 1-0. East Suns Freshman never trailed after scoring four runs in the third on two singles. |
