2006 Indy 500 Fundraiser
Georgetown College Volleyball participated for their 8th year in the Indy 500 clean up at the Indianapolis Speedway. The clean up is a great opporutunity for the girls and families to get together and do a great service. The fundraiser is basically cleaning up two large fields after the race. Not only does it help to raise funds for the program, but it is also a community service that the team does together. It makes for a great bonding experiance as new players get the chance to work with veterans.

Tigers Sign Seven for 2006
There will be a whole new look for the 2006 Lady Tigers as seven new faces join the team. There will be a big influence of Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati talent pouring into the program. The first to ink with the Tigers was Kristen Meister(5-5,L/DS, Cincinnati, OH/ McAuley) 2004 winner of the Gatorade Will to Win Award. Kristen is quick, aggressive, and a confident defender. Kristy Hock (6'2, MB, Erlanger, KY/Notre Dame) was the second to give Georgetown a Commitment to play volleyball in 2006. She was All District, All Region, NKAC 1st Team and Team Captain. Kristy is a powerful attacker with great movement and leadership qualities. Cathy Frank (6'0, MB/RS, Cincinnati, OH/Ursuline) was the next to decide Georgetown was for her. Cathy is a huge addition to the program with her size and the fact she is left handed. Alexandra Bertke (5'11, OH, Edgewood, KY/Notre Dame) 32nd District Player of the Year, All Region, and NKAC Division I Player of the Year. Allie is an all around player with great consistancy and poise. Erica Janszen (6'0, OH, Cincinnati, OH/Mother of Mercy) 2005 GGLC, SWOCVA, Cincinnati Enquirer 1st Team, and 3rd Team All State of Ohio. She is a big powerful hitter who has the ability to terminate. Amy Barmore (5'9, S/OH, Louisville, KY/Male) was named a three time All District and All Region performer. She was also awarded 2nd Team All State. Amy is a pure athlete and has great training to go along with her ability. Cassie Moore (5'10, OH, Florence, KY/Ryle) was named NKGVCA Divison I MVP, 31st District MVP, ALl Region, and All State. Cassie was a great find for Georgetown. A great student, with a wonderful attitude. She can jump, attack, dig, and serve with great effeiceny and that is a player hard to find. The 2006 recruiting class holds the most talent that Georgetown Volleyball has ever seen. It will be an exciting season seeing what can and will happen.
