CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING CITY C-POOL MIDGET CHAMPIONS!!!

SEMI-FINAL RESULTS:

• NORTH-A 3; OAKRIDGE -A 2
• SSE-C 4; OAKRIDGE-E 3 (SO)

CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL:

• SSE-C 3; NORTH-A 2 (SO)

If ever there was a Cindarella story, this was it. A team that finished 18th out of 18 teams in the combined pool; had to win its final season game against the 2nd place C-pool team to make the playoffs; had to beat the first place team (that had outscored us 16-0 over 3 C-pool games) in a shootout, after Eric and Sam had scored in regulation and Andy stopped 24 shots, the winning goal scored by Sam, one of our 2 goalies; and then finishes it off by winning the C-pool final in a shoot-out, with Brandon and Sam both having to score to prolong the shootout, Jamie scoring the shootout winner, and Andy making two great saves at the end of the shootout to give us the win. We had our first and only 3-game winning streak in our last 3 games, and finished 6-3 over our last 9 games.

One word to describe all this is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Although the year ended on an extremely high note, please remember that, unless we all want a repeat of this year's start-of-season blatant injustice, ALL parents (and players too, if willing) need to attend so we can let our unified voices be heard. There has been talk of having all teams picked via a draft next year; but does ANYONE actually believe that CS would comply with this, or that the SSEMHA hierarchy would enforce it, after what happened this year? I went alone two years ago, and look what good that did. PLEASE ATTEND, even if your son/daughter has other plans for next year, so no one ever has to go through this again. We need a totally new convenor - one who treats all players equally, as they deserve. It's what we all paid for.
