Jordan Barchus, Ben DeSaulnier, Andrew Ketelson, and Travis Klampe were honored by being selected to the All-Tournament Team. Zach Hammerschmidt was also selected as the Tournament MVP. |

| Capital City travels to Redmond this weekend for the Panther Classic Tournament. They play their first game bright and early at 8 AM on the varsity field and Redmond High School; the Sox line up against the Tualatin Timberwolves in game one. Game two they will play the Sisters Outlaws; the Sox look for improvement from their last tournament outing and will have high expectations going into the weekend. |

| Capital City added their 12th and final player for the 2010 season... Connor Suing is out of Keizer and played KYSA Senior American last season. He will pitch, play first base and outfield for the Black Sox. We are excited to have him and look forward to a great season with our completed team! |

| Capital City will play up in Pasco Washington this weekend at The Gathering tournament! Their first game will be at 11 A.M. against the Spokane Dodgers who finished in 2nd place at West Coast Nationals last year. Then Capital comes back at 2 and plays Xtreme Baseball Club to finish off the day. |

Capital City Select opened up their season against the Keizer Knights and West Salem Titans on Sunday at Salem Academy High School. In the morning game Capital City started off slow against the Knights; going down 1-0 on a ground out by Jacob Wood in the top of the 2nd. The pace picked up offensively for the Black Sox in the 3rd; they rolled up 5 runs on 4 hits, capped off by a 2 RBI single by Travis Klampe. They tacked on 3 more in the 4th to go up 8-1. The Knights came back and scored 2 unearned runs in the top of the 7th but it wasn't enough with the game ending at an 8-3 score. Travis Klampe went 2-4 with 3 RBI's and pitched well getting the win in 4 innings pitched, giving up1 run, striking out 3. Cyrus Mooney also led the Sox at the plate going 3-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI's. |

Due to the great northwest weather Capital City had to postpone its first double header to Sunday March 14th. Capital City will take on the Keizer Knights first at noon and then move on to play West Salem at 2:30. The games will be at Salem Academy High School. |

| Capital City Baseball will be taking part in a partial intersquad scrimmage on Sunday at Salem Academy. We will have live pitchers against live hitters for the first time this year, the kids are excited to just go out and play so this will be the last action they see before opening day next weekend! Should be fun! |

| Capital City is holding a fundraiser to pay for costs of travel and uniforms this year, we will be playing in a 100 inning game on April 2nd at Salem Academy. Each player is required to get a certain amount of sponsors for the game with the winner getting a prize! Please help us pay our way this year and support these kids in the 100 inning game! |

Capital City starts off their season at Salem Academy on Saturday March 13th. We will host the West Salem Senior Federal as well as the Keizer Knights in a league game. The games will start at 9AM and go until about 2PM. The schedule is listed below; please come out and support your Capital City Black Sox in their first games of the season. |

| The Capital City Black Sox will be heading to Pasco Washington on the 19th and 20th of March for their first tournament of the season. The Gathering brings many of the best teams from across the northwest for the season opener. It will be a great test for Capital City and we look forward to competing. |
