Posted May 14/10 - Practice Practice
It was a encouraging practice last night to see the kids start to understand how important it is to run the bases properly.  With each practice we have I try to add something new to their knowledge of how to play the game correctly.  That is why it is important to try an make every practice you can cause we are building a strong foundation with these young men one brick at a time.  Just like a house is not strong without all the bricks neither will our team.  Also congrats to the team moms after this last tournament I had several parents from opposing teams say how our organized and well controlled our players where when they where in the dugouts.  Most teams dugouts is total chaos our is a very controlled chaos and I appreciate all you guys do to keep it that way.  I believe as a team we are setting a positive example as to what it means to belong to a team and how young men should behave.

Posted Mar 31/10 - Preseason Tournament
The 6u preseason tournament bracket has been posted on the EJRT website.  Our first game will be at 9am on Saturday.   Remember this tournament will decide which division we play in and we want to be in the upper division.  With this in mind based on how players have done in practice will determine the position they play in.  I will not put a child in a position where they may get hurt meaning those who are easily distracted will probably play outfield over infield in the tournament.  I will continue to rotate them during the regular season.  Also we will have to start with two kids on the bench but those two will bat first and take the field in the second inning.   I am confident we will perform well.  Good luck and lets keep up the hard work, win or lose i am always proud of our team.

Wow what a difference one practice can make.  The progress you guys made tonight is astounding.  Remember to keep practicing getting rid of the ball as soon as you catch it.  We will have a scrimmage next Tuesday night at 6pm at Crosslin Park(the park where we play our games at).  At this time I am unable to confirm which field we will be using but the scrimmage is going to happen.  Look forward to seeing you all Thursday night.

I am always amazed at how fast you young men are learning the things we teach you.   Remember outfielders throw to second base and infielders throw to first.  We will keep practicing on the way we move every time the ball is hit an it will become easier.   I believe our team is progressing nicely and look forward to all the new things we learn and the growth we are making as a team is excellent.   I am always proud of all of you and am thankful to be your coach.

Posted Mar 13/10 - Upcoming Practices
Our recent practices have been short and quick up until now.  Starting after spring break we will be practicing longer cause we will have more light.   I have been impressed with the things the kids remember from last and believe  we have a good foundation of the basics where we can start working in more detail the nuances of the game.   With longer practice times we will be able to focus more on the details and how to react to different game situations.   I hope all the kids are as encouraged as I am by the progress we are making and look forward to becoming a better team.  Enjoy spring break and get ready cause now we really start practicing.
