THE PIECES ARE COMING TOGETHER FOR THE LADY PANTHERS, AS THEY DEFEAT THEIR INSTATE RIVAL THE SC STARS ON SATURDAY. THE GAME WAS VERY INTENSE WITH DEFENSE LEADING THE WAY. THE LADY PANTHERS HELD OFF A STRONG LATE FOURTH QUATER COMEBACK WITH AN OVERALL TEAM DEFENSIVE EFFORT. KEEP SUPPORTING THE LADY PANTHERS AS THEY HIT THE ROAD FOR THE ATLANTA CLASSIC AS THEY TAKE ON THE GULF TROPICS! GO LADY PANTHERS!!

IN AN EMOTIONAL GAME AGAINST ATLANTA THE LADY PANTHERS CAME UP 12 POINTS SHORT. FOULS PLAGUED THE LADY PANTHERS. THIS WAS A BATTLE THAT LOOKED TO BE THE MAKINGS OF A GREAT RIVALRY. THE LADY PANTHERS GO BACK ON THE ROAD NEXT WEEK TO GREENVILLE TO PLAY THE 0-4 SC ALLSTARS. THIS IS A HOMECOMING FOR SEVERAL PEOPLE AND SHOULD PROVE TO BE INTENSE AND FUN SEE YOU THEN! GO PANTHERS!

THE SOUTH REGION DIRECTOR (ANDRE' WORKMAN) AND THE DIRECTOR OF BUISNESS DEVELOPMENT (CHRISTOPHER GARLINGTON), WHO ARE OWNERS OF THE NEWBERRY LADY PANTHERS AND THE ATLANTA BATTLECATS RESPECTFULLY, GO HEAD TO HEAD TODAY 6/4/2011 AT 3pm IN NEWBERRY SC AT NEWBERRY COLLEGE, ELEAZOR ARENA. THESE 2 MEN ARE GOOD FRIENDS AND TREMENDOUS COMPETITORS SO THIS SHOULD BE EXCITING. ALTHOUGH THE LADY PANTHERS ARE 0-3 THEY ARE A VERY TALENTED CLUB AND HAVE ADDED SOME NEW PIECES TO THE PUZZLE WHCH SHOULD HELP BRING INSTANT SUCCESS. ATLANTA IS A VETERAN SQUAD 3-0 WHO HAS EXPERIENCE IN THE LEAGUE AND TOGETHER AS A TEAM. THIS IS BUILDING TO BE AN EXPLOSIVE GAME, SEE YOU IN NEWBERRY!

Posted May 20/11 - OPENING DAY HEARTBREAK

The Newberry Lady Panthers opened against the RDU Sting and it came to a nail bitter at the end. The Sting scored with .3 secs to cap off a 19 point comeback. It was a fun game and both teams represented the WBCBL to the utmost and the crowd was crazy. The Panthers hit the road to sunny Fla to take on the Thunder of Tallahassee at 3pm Saturday May 21st. The team is lead by Keena "Sicker" Wicker (31pts) and Briana "Sleepy" Johnson (12pts). See you On June 4th at 3pm when we return home to face the Lady Battlecats of Atlanta!

KEENA IS COMING BACK INTO THE WBCBL AFTER A YEAR LONG SIT OUT. SHE LOOKS GREAT AND FEELS GREAT, AND HOPEFULLY CAN LEAD THIS TEAM TO THE REGION CHAMPIONSHIP AS WELL AS THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Andre' V. Workman has been named the new South Regional Director with the WBCBL. Workman is the Founder/Owner of the Newberry Lady Panthers, who will have their inagural season with the WBCBL this year, playing in the South Region. Workman is a former Assistant Coach of the South Carolina All-Stars until his departure last year to form his own organization. Workman also was an Assistant Coach at Carolina Academy, under the direction of Head Coach Mary Simpson and Assistant Head Coach Flip Simspn, where he gained a wealth of knowledge about basketball operations.
