Cloverdale Mustangs came to town on a beautiful Sunday to finally get our two games in. They were our first opponent and it took all season to get that initial rainout played.
Great outing by Robert in the first game with Isaac slamming the door the last two innings while getting 3 BBs and a single to score 3 runs. Rory knocked in the two go ahead runs with Jason getting on 4 times in between Isaac and Rory. Shoutout to JK for getting on and scoring two "Key" runs. 8-4 win.
Second game had a monster bottom of the 3rd where we scored 9 runs to go with the 5 from innings 1 and 2. 14-3 after 4 complete should have been a shorter game but we let them have a two unearned runs when a couple of veteran infielders kicked a couple of balls. No matter, that just meant another inning for that mound wizard, Garde, to induce some right at 'ems and we ended up taking a 14-5, 7 inning win. Good 3 innings from Jeff on the mound, as well as a couple of innings worked behind the plate which brought us yet another defensive look. Rory worked two giving way to Garde to do his Voodoo thang for the final two innings.
The Voodi have taken the Bantam AA Lower Mainland League by the throat sporting a 15-3 league record with two games to go. Our VCB bretheren are keeping pace as they move to 13-3 with a 20-0 pounding of Newton. They have 4 tough games to go with the Spurs twice, the Reds and Aldergrove to finish their season. Vancouver baseball rocks! Here's to a 1-2 VCB finish!
