KATY, TX---Christy Williams scored 17 points, Shayne Ortiz had 13, and Megan Palmer scored 12 to lead Cinco Ranch past Taylor on Tuesday night.  Jaylon McClure added 9 points on three 3-pointers, and Ortiz added three treys as the Cougars shot 42% from the field.  Cinco was also a season high 80% from the free throw line, hitting 12 of 15 from the charity stripe, all coming in the 2nd half. 

Taylor jumped out to a 18-12 lead after one quarter behind Amira Jenkins nine points.  Cinco came out hot from behind the arc as Ortiz hit two of her three-pointers in the first quarter.  The Cougars clawed back to within one point, 27-26 at halftime as McClure led the way with two of her three bombs coming in the quarter.  The teams traded buckets throughout the third quarter and were tied, 42-42 going into the final frame.  The Mustangs ripped off the first six points of the quarter to take a 48-42 lead, but then the Cougars answered with a 12-0 run to take a 54-48 lead in the closing minutes.  Cinco was 7 of 8 from the line in the final quarter as Williams scored 9 of her 17 in the fourth period.  Ortiz scored seven points in the last eight minutes. 

Taylor Williams dominated on the defensive end for the Cougars, swatting away five shots and pulling down seven rebounds.  Palmer and McClure each added seven rebounds and Cinco collected 37 rebounds on the evening.  Cinco improves to 23-9 on the season and 8-2 in 19-5A play with two games remaining.  The Cougars will host Morton Ranch on Friday night, which is also Parent Night.
