KATY, TX---Gabby Ocanas scored 16 points and Akunna Elonu and Jazmine Ocanas each scored 14 to lead Elsik to a 56-38 victory over Cinco Ranch on Thursday night at Morton Ranch HS.  The Cougars controlled the pace of the game in the first half and trailed just 21-15 at intermission.  Elsik stretched the lead to 33-24 at the end of three quarters and pulled away in the final period to move on to the Regional Quarterfinals. 

Cinco was led by Megan Palmer, who had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Taylor Williams scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds.  The Cougars finished 15-17 from the free throw line.  The game marked the final contest for five Cinco seniors.  Shayne Ortiz, Whitney Jefferson, Morgan Hatfield, Christy Williams, and Megan Palmer ended their careers and helped the Cougars to a 26-9 record on the year, the most wins by a Cinco squad since the '07-'08 season.
