Your Abbotsford Angels travelled to Kamloops for a double-header on Saturday. After working out a few cobwebs from the 3 hour drive up, the Angels put together a string of 2 and 3 run innings. Chase started on the mound and pitched great. Jonah went in to relieve Chase to preserve the victory. The game was highlighted by a 2 run homer hit by Sheldon over the centre-right field fence. (over 300ft). Final score game 1 - Angels 11, Kamloops 2.
In the second game, the Angels started where they left off. Austen started on the mound and pitched brilliantly for 3 innings. Jordan came in to relieve him and finished the game. The Angels bats continued to shine while the stingy defence kept Kamloops off the scoreboard. Two great double-plays in the game ended two threats by Kamloops to score. Two key highlights was a 2 run double by Austen who hit the very top of the centre field fence in the sixth inning. Had it been a home run, the game would have ended. With the mercy run on third, Cade stepped up to the plate and hit a clutch single straight up the middle to score Austen. Final score, Angels 10, Kamloops 0 in six innings.
The Sunday double-header against Cloverdale Black Spurs has been postponed. The next scheduled game is Saturday, June 23 vs. Cloverdale Red Spurs.
