Columbus Lady Wings Semi-Pro Basketball

Your Columbus Lady Wings are the 2012 Regional Champs

            COLUMBUS, GA, July 16, 2012:  The Columbus Lady Wings victory against the Gulf Coast Tropics officially earned them the title of Regional Champs in the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) south region.  The Lady Wings ended the regional basketball season undefeated with a 9 and 0 record.  The Lady Wings ended the regional season Saturday, July 14 with a 105 to 94 victory over the Gulf Coast Tropics. 

            The Lady Wings success is attributed to each player keeping her eye on the success of the team  They value team success over individual success.  Brittaney Thomas who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a native of Montgomery, Alabama ended the regional season with a 40-point game.  Shanika Carter who is also a high scorer said of her teammate Brittaney "she is something special".  The ladies work hard, play hard and support each other.  They are a cohesive team and the 9 and 0 record tells the story.
