Posted Jul 28/12 - Angels take two in Vancouver
After almost two weeks off, your Abbotsford Angels rolled into Vancouver for a double-header on Saturday, July 28.  In a battle that would determine at least 2nd place, it was sure to be a good test against a talented Vancouver team.
Jordan pitched a fantastic 7 innings and held the Mounties to just 1 run.  Thanks to some clutch hitting by Jeremyi (including a solo homer) the Angels managed to eek out a 2-1 victory.  This despite leaving 7 runners stranded on the base pads.
In the second game, a first inning solo homer by Sheldon got the Angels off to an early lead.  Jonah pitched well and was able to go the complete game.  This time, the Angels bats would fair better as several Angels made timely hits.  But this game belonged to Sheldon as he hit not only one more dinger but three in total! An incredible display of power. As always, the Angels defence yielded very little as the Mounties managed only one run in the entire game.  Final score, Angels 6, Vancouver 1.
The next games are Sunday, July 29 at Townline Park. Game times are 2pm and 5pm.   They face the division leading Cloverdale Black Spurs. A couple of wins against the Spurs would vault the Angels into first place.
Go Angels!
