Posted May 9/13 - FENCES ARE UP - LET'S PLAY BALL

The fences are up and the diamonds are ready for ball.  Wednesday evening the Saskatoon AAA Bantam Cardinals along with the A's, Braves and Jays put up the home run fences at Nutana and prepared the diamonds for opening day.  The fences were put up in just under 2 hours, which, according to Terry McNeely. is about 15 minutes faster than last year.

Cardinals head coach Darren Crilly was all smiles yesterday and looking forward to tomorrows home opener against the A's.  With only four players with Bantam experience, Crilly expects the red birds will have to work hard to compete against the other teams who are carrying only 2 to 3 rookies.  Were a young team Crilly said, but we have some good leadership coming from second year players Reid Britnell and Brydon Gore.  We also have a bunch of young kids who know how to win games and we expect to be in the hunt by the time provincals start.

If your coming to the game come early to get a good seat.  Gametime temperature is expected to be about 20 C and the Cardinal's batters are ready for a little bingo.
