After a long and tough road swing, things were looking good for the Cards who held a 7-2 lead at the end of the first inning. However, by the end of the game it was the Braves who were smiling coming away with a 19-12 victory. Shawn Lewis pitched 1-1/3 innings for the Cards before Riley-James Vinding came in to finish the second inning. Nolan Machibroda pitched the third and fourth innings while Justin Walters pitched the 5th to close the game. Although the Cardinals bats were hitting the ball, their defence was error filled for most of the game. Garret Krawchuk, Graham Forrester, Justin Walter, Reid Britnell, Bryden Gore, Sean Lewis and Ryan Crilly were all 1/3 for the Cardinals. A special call out to the courageous umpire who still finished the game after being blasted by an R J Vinding fastball near the end of the 2nd inning.
The Cards hit the road on Thursday for an evening game against the Muenster Red Sox.
