Posted Jun 3/13 - CARDS FINISH STRONG TO SALVAGE WEEKEND SPLIT

What a difference a day makes.  After losing two the day before, the Cardinals bats found some life as they went on to salvage two wins over the weekend. In their first game, the Cards out mustered the Muenster Red Socks, winning 8-6.   After giving up 4 runs the cards battled back in the third with RBIs from Justin Walter and Garrett Kawchuck.  Bryden Gore got the Cardinals going in the top of the fifth with a 450 ft solo home run to deep center.  The bats continued with singles from Shawn Lewis and Ryan Crilly and two stolen bases off a Red Sox error. The Cards tied up the game with an RBI double from Ethan Meyers sending Ryan Crilly home from 1st.  The offence continued to rumble with the bases loaded and Walter punching three runs home on a RBI double

Ryan Crilly pitched a solid game with 4ks while Tyler Stadnichuk came in to shut down the Sox for a Cardinal Win.

In their second game of the day, the Cardinals looked like they were back to their old habits as the A’s scored in the top of the first on an error assisted inside the park home run.  If it was Saturday, it is likely that the A’s assault would continue.  However, the Cards shrugged off the errors and settled down to beat the A’s 7-5.  Ethan Meyer started on the mound for the Cards, pitching a solid 6 2/3 innings before Graham Forrester came in to seal the victory.

The Cards now have Monday off before taking on the visiting Muenster Red Sox, for the fourth time this season, on Tuesday night at 6:30 pm, Nutana No. 2.
