NUTANA, SK. – Reid Britnell put in a career outing Wednesday, but it wasn't enough as the Saskastoon Cardinals baseball team fell 3-2 to the Blue Jays at Nutana Field. Britnell set a new career-high in strikeouts with 7 over a career-best 7 innings of work. The native of Outlook, Saskatchewan, faced the minimum number of batters three times. The Blue Jays opened up the scoring in the third inning getting three earned runs with two outs. The Cards made it interesting scoring a run in both the 5th and 6th innings. With runners on base in the 7th, the Cards could not score, eventually falling 3-2.
The Cards will now prepare to take on the A’s in their final game of season.
