| The Waconia Lakers were clicking on all cyclinders on their way to sweep the St. Boni Saints in the best of three series on Friday night. The Lakers got on the board early on a rbi single from Jeremy Salden in the first. The Lakers managed to score 4 runs in both the 5th and 7th inning to put the game at 10-0 for a 7 inning shortened game. Ryan Naughton threw a complete game 4 hitter and struck out 9 in his dominant performance. "I wanted to pitch well in the last home game; home games are the best," Naughton said. Nine Lakers had hits led by Ronnie Olson, who had 2 bone crushing singles and a double. Peter Brown also had three hits and 2 rbi's. Ben Smothers and Jeremy Salden each had two hits on the night. With the win the Lakers advanced to the CRVL regional tournament. "I'm happy and to win and get to go out to downtown Waconia," Train Lyons said cracking open a beer. The Lakers will play Young America at 8:00 pm in Glencoe for the first round of the tournament. |
