Game #1 vs. Spiro Savages - First game out of the box, the boys looked like they were ready to go!!! Hunter started on the hill and did an outstanding job. Bailey came on in relief and threw very well also. Bats looked good and defense looked fairly well too. All-in-all for a first game with only 2 short practices, you couldn't ask for much more. 13-5 win
Game #2 vs. Mighty Ducks - Against one of the better teams in the state, the Cudas didn't lay down. Aaron started on the hill and held one of the better hitting clubs we will see this year in check. Way to go Aaron!!! Tayden came in and pitched the final 2 innings and did an excellent job as well. We faced two good lefties this game that were bringing the heat. We watched a few too many strikes, but overall a great game #2. 3-4 loss
Game #3 vs. Spiro Savages - Wow, a 9am game, when we lose an hour of sleep because of daylights savings time!!! It showed early on, we looked tired and sloppy. Bubba started on the hill and struggled to find the strike zone but worked through 1 inning. Dayne came on in relief in the 2nd inning and shut them down for the remainder of the game. Still watching to many strikes at the plate. Couldn't get the bats going this morning. Tanner did hammer one to centerfield. Bats started coming alive at the end, but it was a little too late. 1-6 loss
Overall, the kids did an outstanding job this weekend. Saw a lot of things the kids did right, but also saw a lot of things we need to work on. It's still early in the season and the coaches will do their best to work and teach these boys to play the game to the best of their abilities.
MVP: Aaron Dockery - Starting Pitcher vs. Mighty Ducks
