The Cardinals made it a season sweep against the Eagles with a commanding 90-62 victory in Paul J. Coop Gymnasium, where the Cards will look to capture the 20th District title in late February. The crosstown match-up favored the Cards the entire game with the margin of victory being the only thing hanging in the balance. Not only did the Cards out perform the Eagles with their talent, they also displayed more hustle and effort than their opponent. Sophomore Devin Rafferty gave a maximum effort throughout the entire game, coming up with 4 steals and many other deflections. Leading the way for the Cards were Caleb Wigginton with 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds and Quentin Goodin with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Freshmen Ezra Oliver and David Sloan also had excellent performance as Oliver chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds and Sloan added 8 points and 9 assists. The Cards shot 52% from 2-point range but shot an outstanding 64% from behind the arc, with Wigginton converting all five of his 3-point attempts. The Cardinals (12-4, 3-0 in the district) will look to continue their road success Tuesday at Green County.
