The January 14th edition of the Taylor County-Green County rivalry was nothing like the matchup on December 19th. Earlier in the season, the Cards defeated the Dragons handedly, 93-67, but the Dragons used the lopsided loss to fuel their fire for the second competition. The Cardinals came out sluggish and the Dragons took full advantage, leading for most of the game up until the Cards finally took control with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Struggling with turnovers and shooting, the Cards did not look like the team that has donned the TC uniforms for the season. Guard Quentin Goodin was a bright spot in the ugly game, as he scored 26 points, handed out 8 assists, pulled down 6 rebounds, and picked 5 pockets. Guard David Sloan, who did not play in the previous matchup, scored 20 points, but struggled with 5 turnovers. Forward Caleb Wigginton was the only other double-digit scorer for the Cards, as he scored 12 points on just 6 shot attempts and secured 9 rebounds. The Cardinals will finish the week of play at North Hardin on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
