The Cardinals' busy weekend saw them cruise to a victory at home against Metcalfe County, 83-42, and suffer a close loss to Franklin High School of Ohio in the Kings of the Bluegrass Showcase at Fairdale High School. Although the split result is not what the team hoped for from the weekend, the Cards played with maximum effort and intensity in both contests. The Metcalfe County matchup saw everyone get in on the action, as the less featured players received significant playing time in the second half. Senior forward Caleb Wigginton led the charge with 22 points and 9 rebounds while sophomore guard Quentin Goodin totalled 18 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals. Freshman David Sloan chipped in 14 points and 6 assists and senior Brady Turpin added 12 points in the victory. Saturday nights game proved to be a more competitive matchup as Franklin High needed all of Luke Kennard's 45 points to pull out the win. Wigginton again led scorers, as he finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Goodin scored 21 points, blocked 4 shots, and assisted on 4 baskets. Sloan tallied 17 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds while junior Austin Webster and freshman Ezra Oliver added 10 points a piece. After the weekend's play, the Cardinals move to 17-5 on the season.
