The Cardinals chose not to make the Hawks of Larue County their Valentine, as the Cards picked up a 71-52 road victory. Although a closely officiated game, the Cardinals were able to overcome foul trouble and 13 turnovers to finish the game off. Junior Austin Webster had a season-high 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead Coach Gatewood's squad. Sophomore Quentin Goodin filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals. Freshmen David Sloan and Ezra Oliver scored 14 and 9, respectively. Senior Caleb Wigginton added 9 points and 7 rebounds, but was straddled with 3 first quarter fouls and eventually fouled out towards the end of the game. Saturday night was Senior Night for the Cardinals as Wigginton, Brady Turpin, and Weston Sullivan were honored for their basketball careers at Taylor County. The Cardinals faced the Spencer County Bears and rolled to another victory, 78-56. Wigginton led the scoring surge, totalling 28 points and 3 rebounds. Goodin continued to stuff the stat sheet, scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Sloan added 10 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds as well. With the weekend wins, the Cardinals remain number one in the region and finished the season perfect at home (10-0, 22-5 overall).
