From here on out, nothing will be easy for the Taylor County Cardinals. However, the Cards were able to squeak past the Thomas Nelson Generals in a 60-59 sloppy contest. The Cardinals could hardly find their shooting stroke, as the team shot 35% from the field and 52% from the charity stripe. The Generals were also able to control the pace, not allowing the Cards to utilize their transition offense. No matter how ugly, the Cardinals were still able to advance to the region semifinal against Etown on Monday night at 6 EST. Freshman Ezra Oliver was the difference maker for the Cardinals, as he scored the first 7 points for the Cards. Oliver finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Quentin Goodin ended with a double-double, 14 points and 10 rebounds and also added 5 assists while freshman David Sloan totaled 16 point. Senior Caleb Wigginton tallied 10 points and 6 rebounds and junior Austin Webster rounded out the scoring with 6 points and 9 rebounds. The Cards survived and advanced and will face region contender Etown on Monday.
