NUTANA, SK – On a night that featured strong pitching on both sides, the Saskatoon Cardinals held on to defeat the Muenster Red Socks 6-4. After the game started with a scoreless inning, the Cards found themselves down by 2 in their half of the second. Garrett Krawchuk cut the lead to one by stealing 2nd and 3rd before reaching home on a throwing error by the Sock’s pitcher. Muenster added three runs in the third before the Cardinals broke the game open scoring 5 runs in the fourth.
Ryan Olchoway started on the bump for the Cards, pitching 4-2/3 innings giving up 4 runs, two unearned. Ethan Meyer recorded the save pitching 2-1/3 innings with no runs scored. Ryan Crilly, Turner Rea and Shawn Lewis were each 2/3 at the plate.
The Cardinals have tonight off before facing the A’s on Thursday at 6:00 pm.
