The Rockford River Bandits open up their 2015 season by traveling to Cologne and beating the Hollanders by a score of 9-7.

The bats were hot as the Bandits racked up 16 team hits. The offense was led by Cody Kielsa (C) with four hits, one run scored and two stolen bases. Andy Jorges (RF) added three hits to the totals. Donnie Mavencamp (3B), Alex Hecht (2B), Bryan McCallum (DH), and Anthony Brenner (1B) all added two hits.

Jason Lesser started on the bump for the Bandits and pitched three innings giving up one earned run, one hit, and three strikeouts. Bandit rookie, Haven Williams, took over after Lesser and pitched three innings giving up zero runs, one hit and two strikeouts. Josh Green then pitched two innings and allowed three runs, one hit and struck out three. Donnie Mavencamp finished the game by throwing one inning and allowing two runs (both unearned), two hits, and striking out three.

The River Bandits will next travel to Howard Lake and take on the Orphans on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00pm.
