Friday night the Rockford River Bandits travel to Maple Plain and beat the Diamond Devils 7-3. Starting pitcher, Lance Reynolds, throws a great game by throwing 8 innings giving up 3 earned off 9 hits, 7 strikeouts, and 3 freebies. Jordan Williams then relieves Reynolds in the 9th to get the save. The bats were hot as the Bandits racked up 17 hits. The offense was led by Ben Fontana and Bryan McCallum. Fontana got two hits with one double and one triple and two RBI's. Mickey gets three singles and a stolen base. Rookies Tommy Traen and Alex Bjorkstrand both get their first and second hits in gray and navy. Jordan Williams, Anthony Brenner, and Donnie Mavencamp all get two of their own, too. Haven Williams and Josh Green also added another hit each to tally up the offense.
After the big win Friday, the River Bandits then hosted the Loretto Larks in Loretto for a Sunday afternoon game. Bandit pitcher, Jason Lesser, gets his third start of the season and battles through the up and down game to get his third complete game and third win of the 2015 season. Jordan Williams comes up clutch in the 7th inning by knocking a single to score both Mavencamp and little brother, Haven. Jordan's two RBI's gave the Bandits their first lead of the game and it's all Lesser needed to put away the Larks. Shortstop, Mavencamp, played a great game in the field and at the plate: two singles and a catcher's interference. Right fielder, Andy Jorges, also gets two hits on the afternoon including a game tying homerun in the 6th. McCallum and Brenner both added one hit, too.
Next up, Rockford will travel to Buffalo Wednesday for a 7:30 night game. Lance Reynolds is sketched in to get the start.
