For the third straight time Rockford faces off against Maple Lake and loses another close battle.

Travis Peterson got the start on the mound and had a solid outing against the tough Irish. Petey was able to throw 5-1/3 innings. In his outing he gave up 5 runs, 4 of which were earned, and gave up 6 hits. Haven Williams relieved Peterson with one out in the 6^th and finished the game. Haven pitched 2-2/3 innings giving up 3 runs, one of which was earned, struck out three and hit one.

Offense was led by Haven Williams and Bryan McCallum. Haven got three singles, one sacrifice and scored two runs. Bryan also got three hits with two doubles, a walk, and 2 RBI’s. Cody Kielsa got two hits, scored one run, knocked in one RBI of a sac fly. Tommy Traen was able to get one hit, one walk, and one RBI.  Andy Jorges had one double. Anthony Brenner and Donnie Mavencamp each got a hit, too. Twelve hits total for the Bandits against the Maple Lake hurlers.

Bandits were up 4-3 after 4 innings. They score remained that way until the Irish managed to score 2 in the seventh and 3 more in the eighth to go up 8-4. The Bandits, like many games this season, wouldn’t go down so easily. Tommy Traen started off the ninth inning rally with a walk. Haven Williams singles up the middle to move Traen to third. Cody Kielsa follows up Haven with another single scoring Traen. Haven then scores on a wild pitch. After a Jorges pop up for out number two, Bryan McCallum comes up big by hitting a double down the left field line and scores Kielsa. Jason Lesser then pinch ran for McCallum and moves to third on a wild pitch. With the tying run on third with two outs, Irish pitcher was able to get Brenner to strike out to end the game at Irish 8 - Bandits 7.
