Posted May 8/17 - Outlaws start season with DH split
On a perfect weather day for baseball, the SW Outlaws opened their 2017 season with a DH split with both games held at the Outlaws new home field in Lake Crystal. The Outlaws lost the 1st game of the DH to the Searles Bullheads 4-2. Paul Olerich led the hitting with 2 hits in 3 AB's, including a triple. Tom Hady took the loss in relief of Sam Baumgartner pitching 4 innings. The good news was that it was great to see Tom back on the hill after a season ending knee injury a year ago.
In game 2 on the day, the Outlaws came out on top of the Jordan Alers by a score of 4-1. Paul Olerich tossed the first 6 innings of the game limiting the Alers to 2 hits and an unearned run. Miah Fitzgerald pitched the final inning to pick up a save. At the plate, Ole again produced 2 hits in 3 AB's and Hady also picked up a pair of hits.
The Outlaws return to action Sunday May 14th at 2PM in Prior Lake against the Mariners.
