Posted Aug 18/13 - Meyer Goes Yard in Hometown Jordan but the Outlaws Fall
Ryan Meyer was the only bright spot for Outlaws as Prior Lake dominates 8 to 1...

Outlaws- 1 / Prior Lake Mariners - 8

Things started out promising as the Outlaws traveled to Jordan MN to take on the Prior Lake Mariners in round 2 of the 2013 state tournament.  The two teams had just finished a 9 inning extra inning affair the previous weekend, but this state tournament Sunday wouldn't end well for the boys from the south.

As previously just mentioned...The Outlaws came out of the gates swinging as Ryan Meyer drilled a home run over the right field wall with one out in the top of the first inning.  Paul Oelrich would follow up the bomb with a single, but that would be the end of the scoring for the Outlaws in the 1st and on the day.

Sam "Bammy" Baumgartner took the hill for the Outlaws and pitched a scoreless first frame.  It looked like the Outlaws would continue rolling in the 2nd as Grant Carlson singled with two outs and his Sr. brother Ryan Carlson followed with a walk.  Both were left stranded, and so were the Outlaws hopes of a 2013 State Championship.

Prior Lake then awoke from it's slumber scoring 8 unanswered runs over the next three innings while pounding out 10 hits.

The Outlaws were unable to answer the bell.  A third inning single from Meyer and a 6th inning single from Sam Baumgartner would be the only base runners the good guys could muster for the remainder of the game.

Ryan Meyer finished the day 2 for 3 with the home run and a single.  Grant Carlson finished 1 for 2, Sammy 1 for 3 and Oelrich 1 for 3.  Sammy threw the first 6 innings and took the loss while Paul Oelrich pitched the final frame for the Outlaws.
