The Saint John Angels have got rid of a huge contract and opened up some space today for some young prospects in the minors, sending long time ace and shortstop Dan Taylor to the Kings County Padres. Taylor who has been with the team from the start was 0-1 with a 5.26 era and a .123 batting average.
Reports say the Angels traded the hard throwing right hander for 4 baseballs. (new)
" Dan just needed a fresh start and a new go at a long baseball career" Said the Angels Skip. "There comes a time when you just know. Dan is a class act and we wish him the best."
The Angels face the Kings County Padres tonight, but Taylor will not be in the lineup. He will join the Padres for the rest of the season. The Padres lost long time Skip Steve Kingston and are looking for a provincial title.
