Posted Mar 20/12 - Tuesday, March 19th vs the Elizabethton Cyclones
Tuesday, March 19th was  tough day for JCHS Baseball.  The Elizabethton Cyclones have a good baseball club, but there were some bright spots for the home team. 

*Harley Reece went 3-4 with 2 doubles (2B), a run scored (R), and a run batted in (RBI)

*Daniel Helm continued his hot start to his junior season, as he went 2-3 with a 2B and 3 RBI

*Jacob Henson continued his nice offensive season as well.  The junior went 2-3, scoring two runs. 

*Seniors, Chad Hodgkiss and Andy Stout both had base hits for Johnson CountyHodgkiss put together several good at-bats on the day. 

Today is a new day.  Sullivan North comes to town for Three Rivers Conference play.  Junior, Ryan Mahala, will take the ball for Johnson County.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:00. 

The JV Longhorns will be in action following the Varsity game, against the Holston Cavaliers JV club.  Sophomore, Sam Thomas will take the ball for the JCHS JV club.  The JV Longhorns dropped a 7-2 decision to Elizabethton on Tuesday night. 

*JV pitcher, Judd Hammons, pitched 4 2/3 innings of quality relif, surrendering only 1 hit, while striking out 6 Cyclone batters.

*Number three hitter, Sam Thomas hit two doubles and hit the ball on the money flying out to centerfield.   

*Starting pitcher, Jake Sutherland, hit a double.  Courtesy runner, Hammons, scored on a Thomas 2B. 

*Freshman,  Nate Plyler, scored his first career JCHS run, pinch running for Thomas in the bottom of the 6th. 

*Freshman, Harley Stout continues to show the ability to put the bat on the ball, as he squared two balls up on Tuesday night, in lining out to center and flying out to right field.
