Posted Apr 8/12 - JCHS To Travel To Sullivan North
JCHS Baseball will travel to the Sullivan North Raiders on Monday, April 9th.  Ryan Mahala will be on the rubber for the Longhorns, looking to win his third conference game of the season and fourth overall.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:00.

Jacob Henson will come down and make an emergency start for the JV Longhorns.  Judd Hammons threw 118 pitches in a seven inning complete game win on Friday at Elizabethton (striking out 10 Cyclone batters in the process), so he will only be on two days rest on Monday (Saturday and Sunday), and Sam Thomas and Jake Sutherland started in the doubleheader vs. the Unicoi County JV club on Saturdy.  Henson will come down and get some work in and help the JV club out in the process.  Hammons will start on three days rest on Tuesday at Sullivan East.

The JCHS JV club has some neat success stories through the first eight games of the 2012 season.  Junior, Jon Vannoy, who has not played the game since Little League, is leading the team with a .313 batting average.  Freshman, Nate Plyler, who played sparingly for the JCMS Longhorns, is leading the team in runs batted in and R.J. Hassett, who also had not played the game since Little League, is turning into dependable base runner.
