In another character builder, the Voodi won on the road against the Surrey Astros by a 7-4 final count.

Espy staked us to 5 innings of shutout ball, stranding 4 baserunners and whiffing 6, leaving after 76 pitches with a 5-0 lead.  Enter Isaac in the top of the 6th inducing a flyball out from the first batter.  Now the top of the order guys hit two straight singles followed by two straight infield errors which brings in 3 runs with a guy at 3rd, one out.  So Isaac rears back and Ks the 5 hitter on 3 pitches swinging and then gets the 6 hitter looking on a 3-2 count.  That was gutsy pitching.  The 7th was eventful, as after a lead off grounder for the 1st out, Surrey rallied with a walk and a single.  Isaac then blows it by the 9 hitter bringing up the top of the order guys again.  A single knocks in the 4th run bringing up their #3 hitter as the tying run at the plate with 2 out.  Isaac gets the hitter to hit a slow roller between pitcher and 1st.  Rory leaves first to field the ball turns to toss it to first and then this part I'm not sure of.  One of a few people who looked about to collide at first caught the ball.  I was looking away from the approaching train wreck so I still don't know who caught it but they did and we held on to move to 11-3 with 6 league games to play.

With the sticks, Jason went 3 for 3 with a 2 run HR while Jeff and Espy both knocked in a pair to highlight the offense in a game where we only had 8 hits to their 7.  We had an eventfull day in the field in the late innings ending up with 5 errors to their 4.

Next up is Vancouver Minor on Tuesday at Hillcrest for a 6:00 PM game start.  5:00 warmup.
