Chad is a Worthington grad who has been AWOL from baseball for many years. He was convinced to ditch retirement and give it a shot with the Outlaws. Back in the day Wertz would patrol the outfield with above average speed and offer a bat with considerable power. I'll never forget our senior year of baseball when Chad hit a shot in Windom. Not only did he jog to first but he held a #1 with his hand well above his head. The ball hit off the wall and he had to settle for a triple and getting yelled at by the coach. We all laughed very hard. I'm looking forward to seeing Wertz back on the field. Also...Chad is extremely talented in graphic design. In the near future, every Outlaws logo you see will more than likely have wertz designs next to it. He unfortunately is also a Bears fan. We will forgive him for that.
