John has been a member of Baseball Alberta for 4 years. In 2003 he played for the Strathmore Reds before joining the Sundre Bisons.
The Bisons went on to become the Provincial Mosquito AA Champions. He also won a silver medal as a member of the Calgary Cubs PeeWee AA team in 2004.
He was one of the players who participated in the "Shave your head" rally night in 2004.
