I'm sure by now everyone has heard that Steve Benner has passed away. I for one will miss a long time very good friend. What I'm asking of everyone, is that you go to our forum and post your best memory of Steve, I would love to see players, coaches, parents, friends anyone that has something to say post it up for all to read. I will be copying all messages into something nice to give to his mother. Steve is gone but he will never be forgotten. You will look long and hard to find a better friend and a bigger supporter of girls softball. I'm sure he has done more for that sport in this area then anyone has done or will ever do.
Hi Steve,
I just saw that you guys won the State Championship and wanted to congratulate you and your team. You have a great team and we really enjoy playing you. Our loss in the last inning was tough but I am glad it was against your team. Your players, coaches, and parents always act in a respectful and classy manner. One of the umpires stopped me after our game and said it was a shame that that was not the championship game as we were the two class teams of the tournament. He said our teams were mirrors of each other and I take it as a compliment to have our team compaired to yours.
When we played you at Boalsburg, we knew that your team was out of gas and have so much respect for them for not giving up. We were looking forward to playing you in a fair straight up game and we did this past weekend. You could not have asked for a better game! You obviously have the same beliefs as I do that you win and lose with pride and dignity. My coaches, parents, and players have the utmost resect for your team and will always look forward to a good clean game with you. If we can't win it we hope you do. You should be proud of the organization that you have and the job that you do. Good luck at the Keystone State Games and hopefully it will be us vs. you in the gold medal game.
Again, Conratulations.
