Yankees set the pace in 1958

Who can stop the runaway Yankees in 58 TB??? That is the question everyone is asking as they have raced into a 6 game lead on the back of some outstanding hitting by the team with Norm Siebern hitting 419 and Mantle already with 7 homers and 20 RBI including 4 homers in one game. Whitey Ford is leading the pitching staff with 5-0 and a 0.82 ERA. It will take a miracle to stop them already with the other three scrambling for positions. The reward for finishing second though will be the daunting task of facing the mighty men from the Bronx. Honourable mention this weeek though to Norm Larker who is batting over 400 for the struggling Dodgers. Add to this 458 OBP and 682 Slugging and we could be looking at a future Hall of Famer if he keeps this pace up.
