On Saturday April 18th Monroe College defeated ASA College by a score of 11 to 1.Sophomore Mathieu Buchesne 3 for 3, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI & Gus Maclao 2 for 2, 1 run scored & 3 RBI led the way on offense as the Mustangs remain unbeaten in their conference.Vincent Fiore got the win after pitching 5 innings, allowing 3 hits & 1 earned run on 5 strikeouts.
In Game 2 the Mustangs continued to play well as they won by a score of 10-2.Mathieu Buchesne & Jose Rosario continued to scorch the ball as Buchesne went 2 for 2 with a homerun & Rosario went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.Joel Sanchez went the distance allowing only 2 earned runs as he improves his record to 5 wins & 1 loss.With the win the Mustangs improve their record to 21 wins & 7 Losses & they clinch a 1st round by in the playoffs.

On Thursday April 16th Monroe College defeated Bronx CC by a score of 5-1.Sophomore pitcher Pedro Perez of Miami, FL. was outstanding.Perez earned the win by throwing a complete 9 inning game on 78 pitches of which only 8 were balls.Catcher Rolando Bello of Miami, FL.continued his hot hitting as he went 2 for 2, with a walk & 1 run scored.

On Wednesday April 15th Monroe CollegebeatDutchess CC by a score of 11-5.The Mustangs trailed by a score of 3-1 until the top of the 7th inning when Benny Negron hit a triple with the bases loaded to give the Mustangs a 4-3 lead.The Mustangs scored again in the eigth to put the game away when Robin Bugallo singled home Josian Rosario who doubled with two outs in the inning.Jonathan Gonzalez got the win going 7 innings, allowing only 1 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 7 on the day. Victor Lara of Miami, FL. threw 2 innings & struck out 3 to get his first save of the season.

On Tuesday April 14 Monroe won their 5th straight as they beat Orange CC by a score of 11-5.Normand Gosselin picked up the win by pitching 7 innings & allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 6 in the game.Offensive standouts on the day include Robin Bugallo 4 for 5, 4 runs scored, Rolando Bello3 for 4, 4 RBI & Mathieu Buchesne 2 for 3, 2 runs scored & 2 RBI.

Monroe College- 11Dutchess CC- 5 On Monday April 13th Joel Sanchez & Patrick Cassidy combined to hold Dutchess CC to 5 runs on 6 hits while striking out 7 with Sanchez getting the win asthe Mustangs defeated Dutchess by a score of 11-5.Jose Rosario went 4 for 5 and Omar Hernandez went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offense as Monroe won their 4th consecutive game.

On Friday April 10th Monroe College took on Globe College at St. Johns University.The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they beat Globe by a score of 9 to 1 to remain undefeated in their conference.Vincent Fiore got the win by pitching 8 innings and allowing only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 7.Marco Moreno went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI & Normand Gosselin went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.

On Sunday April 9th Monroe College took on St. Josephs College in Long Island, N.Y. The Mustang offense exploded for 19 runs on 20 hits, led by Jose Alberro, 4 for 5, 2 runs scored, 4 RBI & Paul Hernandez, 3 for 4, 1 run scored & 2 RBI.Xavier Alvarado went 5 innings & allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits to pick up the win.Game 21

On Wednesday April 8th the Mustangs defeated Dutchess CC by a score of 9-8.Monroe led by a score of 7-0 going into the 9th when Dutchess scored 8 times to take the lead.The Mustangs did not quit and scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th on a Carlos Hughes game winning walk off hit.Vincent Fiore picked up the win in Relief & Jose Rosario has another fine day at the plate going 3 for 5.

On Sunday April 5th the Mustangs travelled to Connecticut to take on UCONN Avery Point.In game 1 sophomore Matthew Beauchesne & Robin Bugallo provided the offense.Beauchesne went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored & 5 RBI while Bugallo went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored & 3 RBI.The 9 runs were more than enough for sophomore Joel Sanchez who picked up his third win of the season by pitching 7 innings, allowing only 4 hits while striking out 6 on the day.
In game 2 the Mustangs sent lefthander Vincent Fiore to the mound looking for the sweep.Fiore had the shortest outing of his young college career as Avery Point tagged him for 7 runs in the first inning.The 7 runs was all Avery Point would need as they beat the mustangsby a score of 17-5.

On Thursday April 2nd Monroe College beat ASA by a score of 2-1.The Mustangs manufactured 1 run in the 2nd & 1 run in the 6th inning.The 2 runs was all they would need as sophomore pitcher Jonathan Gonzalez of New York City, N.Y. baffled ASA hitters all day.Gonzalez earned the win throwing a complete 9 inning game where he allowed only 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 16 batters in the 2-1 win.
On Saturday Monroe College beat Globe by a score of 4-1.Sophomore Jonathan Gonzalez looked sharp in the win.Gonzalez allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits while striking out 11 batters for his 2nd win of the season.In game 2 Norman Gosselin continued the fine pitching for the Mustangs.Gosselin threw his second complete game of the year, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 6 in the win.Richard Melendez of Miami, FL went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored & 1 RBI for Monroe.The Mustangs improve their record to 10 wins & 6 Losses with the11-1 win over Globe College.
On Wednesday March 25th the Mustangs traveled to West Windsor, NJ were they lost to Mercer CC by a score of 5-3.Monroe sent Joel Sanchez to the mound and he appeared to be having trouble with his command.Sanchez walked four and gave up 7 hits as he took his first loss of the season.On offense the Mustangs managed to get on base, scattering 10 hits, but left many of the base runners stranded as they only managed to score 3 runs on the day.
On Tuesday March 24th the Mustangs beat Sullivan CC by a score of 11-6.Jose Rosario 3 for 3, 1 run scored & 2 RBI and Marco Moreno 3 for 5, 2 runs scored & 2 RBI provided the offense as the Mustangs scored 6 times in the fourth and 4 times in the 5th to win their 5th game in a row.Freshman pitcher Patrick Cassidy continued to impress as he threw4 1/3 innings & struck out 7 to pick up the win in relief.
On Sunday March 22nd the Mustangs took 2 from Nassau CC.Norman Gosselin pitched game one and got the win. Gosselin pitched a complete game, struck out 8 and allowed only 1 run on 3 hits.Gosselin also contributed on offense going 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.Freshman Angel Chacon of Brooklyn, NY also had a fine day at the plate, Chacon went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.In game 2 freshman Xavier Alvarado got the start.Alvarado went 6 innings, allowed 6 hits and struck out 5 en route to his first college win.Shortstop Marco Moreno provided some support at the plate going 2 for 4 with a triple & 3 RBI in the contest.
The Mustangs took 2 against Bronx CC Saturday to even their record at 5 wins and 5 losses.The Mustangs pitching has looked great all year and continued to do the job as they dominated the Bronco Hitters.Joel Sanchez picked up the win in game 1 & Jonathan Gonzalez got the win in game 2 and both looked sharp.
On Friday March 20th the Mustangs traveled to Sewell N.J. were they were defeated by Gloucester CC by a score of4-2.The Mustangs managed only 2 runs on 4 hits as sophomore Pitcher Vincent Fiore took the loss, the first of his college career.Fiore’s record was a perfect 8 wins & 0 losses prior to the defeat against the always tough Gloucester CC.Shortstop Marco Moreno of Miami, FL went 1 for 3 with a walk and a Homerun in the losing effort.
The Mustangs managed 9 hits and 6 runs as they beat St Louis CC by a score of 6-2.Gus Maclao went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Lebby Torres got the win in relief as he pitched 5 innings and allowed only 2 hits.The Mustangs head back to the Northeast with a record of 3 wins and 4 losses
The Mustangs lost to Ulster CC by a score of 7-3 in their second extra innings game in as many days. The Mustangs took the lead in the 6th inning when Robin Bugallo homered to right field to put the Mustangs up by a score of 3-2.The lead was short lived as Ulster scored 1 in the seventh to tie the game and send it to extra innings.Ulster scored 4 more in the eighth to get the win and give the Mustangs their 3rd straight loss.
Westmoreland CC defeated Monroe College in a hard fought game by a score of 11-9.The Mustangs trailed by five in the bottom of the seventh, but managed to rally & scored 5 times in their last at bat to tie the game and force extra innings. Westmoreland quickly responded by scoring twice in the eight to regain the lead and take the victory. Patrick Cassidy pitched well in relief, the freshman held Westmoreland scoreless over 3 2/3 innings as he struck out 5 batters. Robin Bugallo went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Richard Melendez went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI in the losing effort.
Delaware Tech defeated Monroe College by a score of 1-0 in an exciting game that remained scoreless until Delaware Tech singled in the only run of the game in the last inning.Norman Gosselin took the loss but pitched a great game as he struck out 10 batters in the contest.Game 3
Monroe College defeated Delaware Tech by a score of 3-0 to improve their record to 2-1.Norman Gosselin scored 2 runs & stole 3 bases in the win.Joel Sanchez picked up the win.The sophomore looked sharp in his season debut as he allowed only 3 hits and struck out 4 on his way to the complete game shutout.
The Mustangs were defeated by Dean College in their second game of the season by a score of 5-0. The Mustang defense committed 3 errors while the offense managed only 5 hits as Jonathan Gonzalez took the Loss after allowing just 1 earned run in the contest.
The Monroe College Mustangs began their season in Myrtle Beach S.C. where they won their first game by defeating Lakeland CC by a score of 7-5.Vincent Fiore got a no decision in the opener after a strong start where he pitched 6 innings, allowed 4 hits and struck out 8 batters. Omar Hernandez picked up the win in extra innings after Matthew Beauchesne, 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, doubled to drive in the winning run for the Mustangs.
