| Game Notes: The Waukesha Firebirds (Black) Team opened up Great Lakes Youth Baseball League play tonight at Ramsey Field in Milwaukee with a 10-4 WIN over the Milwaukee Angels. The Firebirds started strong with 5 runs in the top of the first highlighted by smash by Alex Lawrence to left for a double scoring Sean Staral who reached on a dropped 3rd strike and Storm Muehl who had doubled also. Samuel Vissers had 2 hits and a walk and 2RBI and scored 2 runs for the Firebirds. Then the Firebird pitching and defense took over. Tyler Coffey and Brian Hepworth and Brandon Berghoefer and Conor Sherman combined to throw a 4 hitter and only giving up 2 walks. Sean Staral and Alex Lawrence and Brandon Berghoefer each scored 2 runs. This was a Great Team win. Alot of the boys moved runners in key situations and put the ball in play when we needed to score from third. We have to work to still get better but this was a good start of League play. This makes the Firebirds 3-1 for 2005. | ||||||||||
