| Game Notes: The Waukesha Firebirds U-12 Black Team defeated a tough Firebird U-11 Black Team 5-0 to go to 2-0 in the GLYBL. The U12 Firebirds were lead by a outstanding pitched game by Mitch (DUCE) Ducett and Tyler ( DECAF) Coffey. They combined for a 4 hitter and only gave up 2 Walks. They got some outstanding help on defense by Sean Staral. Sean on the first play knocked down a hard shot up the middle and made a great throw to get the runner at first to end a rally for the U11 Firebirds. Then Sean (Scrap Iron) Staral managed to top that play with a stop of another hit by fielding a shot to him and tagging the runner coming to second and then throwing to first to turn the double play.Storm Muehl and Alex Lawrence both scored 2 runs for the Firebirds and each had 2 hits and Alex( A-Train) Lawrence also had 2 RBI'S. Brandon Berghoefer laid down a great bunt in the first inning allowing Alex to score from third. This game was won by aggressive base running and great defense and all the boys executing when asked to. We are taking a GREAT approach at the plate and ALL the boys are battling to force our opponents pitchers to work extra hard to get us out. We still are making some base running mistakes but we will get better. And sometimes over looked is the outstanding job Brian Hepworth does at catcher. He blocks balls that save us runs and our pitchers can throw balls in the dirt knowing Brian will stop them. Great Team Win!!!!!!!! | ||||||||||
