The East Suns built an early edge on Monday, but Nicolet Varsity roared back to steal a 5-3 victory at Cedarburg High School. While the Suns led until the seventh inning, Nicolet Varsity worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Henken. Jake Perez reached base three times in the game for Suns. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning. Hunter Crass got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over six innings. Hunter struck out two, walked two and gave up seven hits. The Suns jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Suns threat began with a single by Matt Schubert. A passed ball then moved Matt from first to second. Zach Biermann singled, scoring Matt. The Suns added more runs when Biermann scored on an RBI double by Jake and Perez scored on an RBI single by Tate Rose. Nicolet Varsity went up for good in the seventh, scoring two runs on a two-run single by Henken. |
