Suns make the most of 8 hits in 7-2 victory over Whitefish Bay Varsity.
Both Suns and Whitefish Bay Varsity put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Suns that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Cahill Park.
Whitefish Bay Varsity had 11 hits compared with Easts eight, but Whitefish Bay Varsity stranded 10 runners on base.
Jonah Maas recorded the win for East. He allowed two runs over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.
Joe Kaszubowski was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
The Suns went up for good in the third, scoring three runs on two errors.
After posting one run in the third, Whitefish Bay Varsity again scored one in the seventh. In the third, Whitefish Bay Varsity scored on a sacrifice fly by Nick Lackney, scoring Turner DeMuth.
East brought home one run in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fifth, Suns scored on a groundout by Jonah, plating Zach Biermann.
