| Game Notes: Varsity added another victory beating Parker 11-3. Verona's bats were ready to attack with Emma Ray's first inning two run home run. Claudia Kepler also added a hit down the third base line clearing the bases. The Wildcats were successful also in small ball when Whitney Franklin laid down a nice squeeze bunt which scored Kepler. Taylor Maier, Kelly Gavigan, and Jillian Bauer also had multiple hit nights. Verona was looking to ten run rule Parker in the fifth leading 10-0, but Parker crawled their way back scoring three runs and forcing more innings. The Cats followed up with strong defense to hold the Vikings to only those three runs. Verona plays in their home opener Thursday night against Beloit Memorial. | ||||||||||
