Eastview continued pool play with a 4-4 tie vs Red Wing. The Lightning had a man on third with nobody out in the top of the 7th and could not move him across. Eastview managed to get 10 hits on offense as everybody in the lineup got to run the bases. They left seven men on base and had three guys thrown out on the bases, two of which were on bunt attempts. Even in games where they are playing well, the Lightning are still struggling with the "little things." Tyler Brodeur (CG, 1 ER, 11 K) gave them a great start as he scattered four hits and four walks as he went the distance in one of his best starts on the season. He fell behind 2-0 early on unearned runs but kept his composure and shut the door after that. Eastview has now won three of their last thirteen games after a 5-2 start. The starting pitching seems to be coming around now but now the offense needs to be a little more consistent. They have Sunday off because they did not qualify for the semifinals before they take on Apple Valley. Eastview won their first meeting of the season 7-0 behind Stofferahn's CG shutout. This time around they will send Lucas Anderson (2-1, 2.75) to the mound in hopes of shutting the Eagle offense down. Game time is set for 6:30pm at Hayes.
