Eastview fell in the first round of bracket play to EP Black 9-5. After falling behind 3-0 and 4-1 early, the Lightning fired back for 3 in the 6th to tie the game up. Eden Prairie came back with a leadoff walk & base hit followed by some greatly executed 'small ball' and put a 5 spot on the board. The Lightning battled back to load the bases and put one across but the rally died 4 runs short. Eastview's staff gave up 11 hits & 11 walks putting 22 baserunners on the bases. The offense had 9 hits and were led by Spika (2 H, BB, SB), Kelley (2 H, 2 RS), Voss (2 BB), Brodeur (RS, 2 BB) & Brechlin (2 H, RS, RBI); all reached base multiple times. The Lightning have a few days off before returning to league play to face Lakeville South in an away game but on Eastview's home field. The Cougars look to defeat the Lightning for the first time this year in this being their third attempt. If the Lightning win they keep their hopes of a .500 league record alive.
