Game

Eastview (13-22-1) lost both games to open up pool play in the MBT State Tournament. They lost their opener to Mpls Orange 10-5 and the night game to Prior Lake 16-1. The Lightning hurt themselves in both games giving up 26 total runs (10 earned), walking 12, and committing 13 errors in the 11 innings they played on defense. It is hard to overcome when you keep kicking yourself in the food. The bats were alive and timely in the first game but Eastview was hurt by a costly baserunning error. In the second game the bats went ice cold and fast. Eastview totaled 10 hits on the day (fewer hits on offense than errors on D and as well as walks on D). The Lightning bounce back to face a tough Woodbury squad who has to be frustrated with their close results (lost to Mpls by 1 and to Prior Lake by 2). Eastview will send Brodeur (2-5, 3.80) to the bump extending his team-high number of starts to 9 on the season. The Lightning would love to find their winning ways before league playoffs Monday night and Gopher State next weekend. Game time is set for 1pm at one of Eastview's home fields this season at the EVHS Varsity.
