Eastview traveled to Northfield to try and win their fourth straight game after dropping their season opener. The Lightning fell down early but got on the board in the third to take the lead with a solo shot by Groskreutz (RS, 2B, SB) followed by a triple by Granat (SB, 2 RS) & a squeeze by Metz (RS, SB). They added two more tallies in the fifth with some aggressive baserunning and took a 4-1 lead going into the final frame. Eastview learned the hard way that baseball at the 14-year old level is not six innings -- it is seven! Northfield came back with 4 runs and won a thriller 5-4. Leading Eastview on offense was Granat & Groskreutz; both reached base twice! Anderson (4 IP, 1 ER) pitched excellent in his first start on the season. The Lightning open the Woodbury Tournament against an excellent Shoreview team and expect it to be a good early season test and see how well they bounce back after a tough loss. They send Dan Spika (0-0, 0.00) to the mound in his first appearance on the season. Game time is set for 5:30 PM.
